SPECIAL EVENT 2/5/2021 - Colene Clemens Zoom tasting with winemaker Stephen Goff

Greetings-

Join us next Friday evening Feb 5th with the winemaker for Colene Clemens Vineyards from Oregon's Willamette Valley! We'll be tasting and zooming with Stephen Goff and drinking some great vino from Colene Clemens!

The tasting starts at 6pm with four brilliant wines made by Stephen, showcasing Oregon's Willamette Valley and the Chehalem Mountains AVA.

We will be tasting a lineup of ALL PINOT NOIR. Goff’s work as Winemaker at Colene Clemens has garnered international attention and acclaim. His 2015 Dopp Creek Pinot Noir was named the #7 wine of the year on The Wine Spectator’s Top 100 List in 2018. Consistently the 2016, 2017 and 2018 vintages have continued to get even more attention. The other 3 smaller production vineyard designate wines produced; Adrianne (named after Joe & Vicki’s daughter), Margo (named after their granddaughter), and Victoria (named after co-owner Vicki Stark) have also received rave reviews.

You will have the opportunity to taste wines that are SOLD OUT at the winery and that have been exclusively purchased in advance by Petit Philippe.

There are a maximum of 40 kits available at this price and it's first-come, first served. So with "Dry January" over, make your 2021 wine resolutions real with some brilliant Oregon Pinot Noir!

THE WINERY:

— Colene Clemens Vineyards —
Colene Clemens was founded in 2005 by Joe and Victoria Stark with the express purpose of making exceptional Pinot Noir. The property is named in honor of Victoria’s mother, Colene Clemens. Wine production began in 2008, and Winemaker & Vineyard Manager, Stephen Goff has been dedicated to the development and planting of the vineyard as well as the production of our stunning wines since the very beginning. Prior to Colene Clemens, Steve spent six vintages as Assistant Winemaker at Beaux Freres.

THE ESTATE:

Spanning 122 acres where the Chehalem Mountains converge with Ribbon Ridge, the estate contains both sedimentary soils from the Wellsdale & Hazelaire series, and volcanic soils from the Witzel series. Elevation climbs from 350 to 650 feet, where the winery perches with sweeping views of the coast range and valley. Currently 62 acres are planted to Pinot Noir & Chardonnay.

OUR HOST, THE WINEMAKER:

After graduating from Fresno State in 2001, Stephen and his then fiancée Laura relocated to the Willamette Valley where he accepted the position of Assistant Winemaker at Beaux Frères. After working six vintages at Beaux Frères, he joined Joe and Vicki Stark in 2008 as the Winemaker and Vineyard Manager for Colene Clemens. Stephen has been the only Winemaker and Vineyard Manager at Colene Clemens, and he oversees all winery and vineyard activities. He is responsible for the planting and development of more than half of Colene Clemens 62 planted acres.

Goff’s work as Winemaker at Colene Clemens had garnered international attention and acclaim. His 2015 Dopp Creek Pinot Noir was named the #7 wine of the year on The Wine Spectator’s Top 100 List in 2018. Consistently the 2016, 2017 and 2018 vintages have continued to get even more attention.
