Wine Advocate: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Synchrony Proprietary Red opens with evocative kirsch, black raspberry and fresh blackberries scents with underlying notions of underbrush, tobacco, wood smoke and lilacs plus a waft of bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals a firm, grainy frame and oodles of freshness supporting the red and black fruit layers, finishing on a lingering earthy note.
Jeb Dunnuck: Also from the Stagecoach Vineyard, the 2016 Red Blend Synchrony is similarly inky colored and boasts lots of bloody blue and black fruits, flowery herbs, and damp earth and mineral aromas and flavors. It picks up a kiss of iron with time in the glass, is full-bodied, and offers beautiful purity of fruit and building tannins. It doesn’t have the depth of the M5 release, but it’s still a brilliant, structured wine that needs 4-6 years of bottle age.
Estate Notes: Synchrony opens with sultry aromas of clove, anise, bay leaf and blackberry. Velvety and plush upon entry, the layered palate of this Bordeaux blend offers lush blackcurrant and sage finishing with lingering dark chocolate and savory nuances. Pair with pork tenderloin medallions in sage butter sauce or grilled lamb with mint risotto. Drink now through 2035. 447 cases produced!
