WEEKLY FLIGHT 5/12 THROUGH 5/14/2022 - New Rosé Preview Flight + ROSEFEST tomorrow

TGIF!

Join us this evening and tomorrow during the day for a preview of FOUR new Rosé wines which WON'T be poured at RoséFest tomorrow night.

Join us for the newest releases from Commanderie de la Bargemone, Château des Ferrages, Teutonic Wine Company and Time Place Wine Company.

We had to make some hard choices about which wines to pour at tomorrow's ROSÉFEST, so we set aside these other brilliant bottles for a special flight this evening and tomorrow afternoon. It's a special flight for those that can't make ROSÉFEST. Join us from 6-8pm tonight and tomorrow (Saturday) from 12 noon to 4pm only. The flight is $16/pp.

Tomorrow, the tasting room closes at 4:30pm to the general public for RoséFest preparations. You can attend RoséFest only with a pre-paid ticket.

Please note some upcoming wine experiences you won't want to miss:

  • Papapietro-Perry Winery, @ Dressler's Metropolitan, Thursday, May 26th
  • 5 Course/5 estate wines, $125/pp. See our announcement.

  • LARKMEAD Winery, Thursday June 2nd
  • Details forthcoming, mark your calendar.

Make it a great weekend,
Mark

Flight of 4 Rosés - $16/person (2.5 oz. pours of each)

Commanderie de la Bargemone Rosé 2021 - $24/bottle
Aix-en-Provence, France

The Knights Templar built a compound of buildings known as ‘'La Commanderie'' in the surrounding farm fields located 10 miles from Aix-en-Provence.
The vineyards here contain Sauvignon Blanc, Rolle, Syrah, Counoise, Caladoc, Grenache, and Cabernet Sauvignon, all principally for the production of Rosé wine. Cabernet is not usually added in Rosés from Provence, but because it ripens late, adding to the acidity and freshness.

Very pale rose-pink in color and an expressive nose of tropical fruit and white flowers. A vibrant attack leads to a nicely rounded palate and excellent persistence of flavor on the finish.
42% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 30% Syrah, 28% Counoise.

Château des Ferrages "Roumery" Rosé 2021 - $25/bottle
Côtes de Provence, France

Located in Pourcieux, halfway between Aix-en-Provence and Saint-Maximin, in the Sainte-Victoire appellation.

Owned by Michel Chapoutier and is a brilliant newcomer to the Rosé book!

A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Rolle (aka Vermentino) and Clairette.

Fresh and fruity aromatic character with notes of strawberry, grapefruit, citrus and white peach.

Teutonic Wine Company "Laurel Vineyard" Rosé of Pinot Noir 2021 - $29/bottle
Chahalem Mountains, Willamette Valley, Oregon

The estate vineyard was planted in 2005 in Alsea, Oregon. Barnaby (& Olga Tuttle, proprietors) worked in the restaurant biz in Portland and became inspired by Rieslings they enjoyed in their youth. Barnaby learned winemaking as an assistant at Laurel Ridge Winery, and credits his influenced style from the Mosel Valley in Germany and the Alsace region in France.

While the estate produces Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Viognier and Grüner Veltliner with low alcohol and high acidity, this Rosé is made with 100% Pinot Noir.

This is a dry Rosé from a high-elevation vineyard in the Chehalem Mountain area. Lush and fruity with a hint of eucalyptus.

Time Place Wine Co. "Sheldon Hills Vineyard" Rosé 2021 - $23/bottle
Lodi, Central Valley, California

Jamie Whetstone is the winemaker and is originally from South Carolina!

When he visited Napa and Sonoma years back, he fell in love with the wine and food scene, which led him to managing Mustard's Grill on Hwy 29 in Napa, followed by a stint in Burgundy with the iconic Domaine Dujac.

Jamie makes single varietal wines that are vibrant and fresh, from carefully sourced vineyard sites.

Pale shade of watermelon in color. Fresh, bold nose full of ripe peach, guava, orange blossom and ruby red grapefruit.
