Throughout the evening, Rick will take us on a journey through his impressive varietal portfolio, featuring classic Chardonnay from Mendocino Ridge, Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast, Sauvignon Blanc from the Russian River, and his bold (yet balanced) Zinfandel from the Sierra Foothills. These rare, small-batch wines (less than 120 cases each) which showcase the exceptional terroir of Northern California's wine region and reflect Rick's unwavering commitment to quality and excellence in every bottle.

MEET RICK DAVIS!
A life-long interest in fine food and artisanal craft led proprietor and winemaker, Rick Davis to the wine industry. With graduate work in soil sciences and his first experience as a cellar-hand for Rivendell Winery, a small winery in New Paltz, NY, he quickly learned the trade and honed his craft towards winemaking.
Calstar Cellars was founded in 2000, and today, Rick brings over 30 years of experience in winemaking to the table. Throughout his career, Rick has worked at some of the most prestigious wineries in California, including Flowers, Chateau St. Jean, De Loach Vineyards, Halleck, Alcina and Londer Vineyards.
At Calstar Cellars, Rick established a reputation for producing exceptional, small-batch boutique wines that reflect the unique terroir of Sonoma County. He sources grapes from some of the finest vineyards in the region, including the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Mendocino Ridge, and uses traditional winemaking techniques to create wines that are elegant, nuanced, and expressive. We met Rick two years ago and have be truly smitten with the wines since. Rick is a true artisan, and you won't find him with a white lab coat on, mixing manipulated wines with additive. These are TRUE boutique wines, made with incredible honesty and in such small batch format that you honestly can taste the difference.
Over the years, Rick has become known for his steadfast commitment to quality and his passion for winemaking. He is deeply involved in every aspect of the winemaking process, from selecting the grapes to blending the finished wines, and his attention to detail is evident in every bottle of Calstar wine.

His wines are known for their balance, their depth of flavor, and their ability to age gracefully.
