Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino 2017
Varietal: 100% Sangiovese Grosso. Spends 3 years in a combination of traditional large Slavonian and French oak casks.
Taste: On the nose it shows mineral-laced black cherries, violets, and rosemary with earth aromas. It’s soft in texture with a polished display of ripe brambleberries and savory anise/mint on the palate. As zesty acids create a juicy expression, the slow-mounting tannins collect upon the senses. The 2018 vintage has lightly dusty tannins that come to the fore as this winds down on the finish.
