Mount Eden Santa Cruz Mountains Estate Pinot Noir 2017
Varietal: Pinot Noir. Fermentation with natural yeasts is conducted in small open-top fermenters and extends 10-14 days. The new wine is immediately put into 75% new and 25% one-year-old French Burgundy barrels. It matures for 18 months before being bottle unfined and unfiltered.
Taste: Enticing wild strawberries and plum aromas are present at the forefront with secondary earth, blueberry and dill varietal notes. The mouthfeel is linear in intensity with fine tension on the palate and backend flavors of blackberry, and lovely plum sorbet.
