Description
Varietal: Old-vine field blend up to 100 years old consisting mainly of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca with small quantities of Tinta Roriz and Sousão. Aged for 12-18 months in French oak. Bottled aged for 6-months.
Taste: Elegant aromas of blackberry coulis and fresh cassis leap from the glass with notes of violets and cedar. On the palate, opulent flavors of ripe black fruit take over but the heavy use of new French oak also gives this red a level of depth with finesse typically only seen in higher-end Left Bank Bordeaux wines. Chiseled tannins and tame acidity on the finish.
