Famille Dutraive Saint-Amour 'Clos du Chapitre' 2020

"Clos du Chapitre," meaning the end of the chapter, is a plateau at 260 meters in altitude at the edge of St. Amour. These are 50 year old vines planted in very rocky ancient soils amongst the rolling hills of the sleepy appellation of Beaujolais.

A lacy and textured Beaujolais from fifty year old organically farmed vines in Saint Amour. Jean-Louis' motto in the cellar is "minimal intervention and maximum surveillance." His three children have embraced this philosophy. Refreshing notes of red cherries, currants, potting soil, and crushed flower petals are balanced by firm acid and well-integrated tannins.
