Description
Varietal: Made from 100% estate-grown grapes from Hanzell's vineyards in Sonoma County's Sonoma Coast AVA. The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented in small lots with native yeasts. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (30% new) for 11 months before bottling.
Taste: In the glass, the wine is a vibrant ruby color. The nose is filled with aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is rich and velvety, with flavors of ripe red fruit, vanilla, and hints of earthiness. The tannins are smooth and well-integrated, and the finish is long and satisfying.
