Arnot-Roberts California Red Blend 2024
Description
First introduced in 2018, the California Red Blend began as an exploration of how Arnot-Roberts’ diverse vineyard relationships could intersect in a single cuvée. Rather than showcase one site or grape, Duncan and Nathan sought to express a broader vision of California terroir, defined by balance, restraint, and the interplay of mountain fruit and coastal freshness.
Varietal: 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 21% Merlot
From a selection of sites spanning Sonoma, Mendocino, and the North Coast, chosen for their maritime influence and rocky, well-drained soils. Each component is fermented separately with native yeasts before blending, and the wine is aged in a combination of neutral French oak and concrete to preserve freshness and clarity over oak imprint.
Tasting Notes: Deep yet vibrant, showing layers of black cherry, wild plum, and crushed herbs alongside graphite and savory spice. The palate balances ripe dark fruit with lifted acidity and fine-grained tannins, finishing with energy and precision that belie its broad California origins.
