The evening begins at 6:30pm with an aperitivo, where guests can enjoy a glass of sparkling Franciacorta while mingling before dinner. At 7:00pm, we’ll descend into the cellar for a five-course dinner paired with the finest wines of Petrolo, each thoughtfully selected to showcase the estate’s depth, elegance, and regional expression.

The evening’s lineup features:

  2. 2022 Boggina Anfora – Sangiovese aged in amphora; delicate, earthy, and lifted.
  3. 2021 Boggina Classico Riserva – Structured, elegant Sangiovese from Petrolo’s historic vineyard.
  4. 2023 Galatrona – The estate’s iconic Merlot, lush, polished, and expressive.
  5. 2022 Campo Lusso – Bold, structured Cabernet Sauvignon to conclude the tasting journey.

With only 35 seats available, this dinner offers a rare and intimate opportunity to taste through Petrolo’s celebrated wines in the company of the winemaker, hear the stories behind each bottle, and experience the artistry of Tuscany in every sip.

The Sanjust Legacy: Luca and Rocco

The Petrolo story is as much about family and vision as it is about exceptional wine. Luca Sanjust, an accomplished artist turned vigneron, assumed stewardship of the estate in 1993, bringing a unique blend of creativity, precision, and passion to every aspect of winemaking. Under his guidance, Petrolo has achieved cult status, producing wines that capture the distinct character of the Val d’Arno di Sopra. He also has an incredible partnership with iconic Burgundy producer, Lucien Le Moine. Petrolo has the stature of Grand Cru Tuscany.

Joining him for this exclusive dinner is his son, Rocco Sanjust, the estate’s talented winemaker. Rocco carries forward the family’s dedication to quality and expression, sharing his intimate knowledge of the vineyards, the winemaking process, and the stories behind Petrolo’s most celebrated wines. This winemaker dinner offers an unparalleled opportunity to connect with both the history and the heart of one of Tuscany’s finest estates.

The History and Allure of Petrolo

Petrolo is the epitome of a Tuscan cult winery, where history, terroir, and family legacy converge.

Founded in 1947 by the Bazzocchi family, the estate sits in the hills of Val d’Arno di Sopra, a small, historic appellation once overlooked but now celebrated for producing wines of remarkable identity and elegance. With over 600 acres planted to Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Petrolo’s meticulous vineyard practices such as low yields, strict pruning, and careful aging, ensure each bottle reflects the land’s true character.

Its flagship Merlot, Galatrona, became a symbol of Tuscany’s quality revolution in the late 20th century, while Boggina and Torrione showcase the expressive power of Sangiovese from a unique corner of the region. The estate’s story is one of artistry and vision, from Luca Sanjust’s transformation of the family estate to Rocco Sanjust’s precise craftsmanship as winemaker.

This exclusive dinner is a rare opportunity to experience Petrolo firsthand, to taste its iconic wines, hear its history directly from the family, and immerse yourself in the heritage, passion, and exceptional quality that make Petrolo one of Italy’s most revered wine estates.

For collectors, enthusiasts, or anyone who loves great wine and stories, this is an evening not to be missed.
