Why We Love It at Petit Philippe

We appreciate this La Storia Zinfandel for its exceptional value and festive-friendly profile. It delivers bold, ripe fruit without sacrificing elegance or balance, making it perfect for holiday gatherings and spirited meals alike. It’s one of those crowd-pleasers that still feels special.

Winemaking

Trentadue’s La Storia series comes from estate vineyards in Alexander Valley — notably the head-pruned old-vine blocks and sustainably farmed plantings. In 2022, amidst one of the driest years on record, the vines produced concentrated fruit thanks to deficit irrigation and attentive viticulture. A portion of fermentation took place in small open-top fermenters for added depth of texture, and the wine was aged for 19 months in American and European oak, bringing in nuances of vanilla, toast and subtle smokiness. The result is a Zinfandel with layered complexity and graceful structure.

Serving & Pairing

Serve at about 60–64°F (15–18°C); decanting for 20-30 minutes will help open its expressive fruit and oak nuances. Pair it this holiday season with herbed-roast turkey, glazed ham, cranberry chutney, BBQ lamb chops or mushroom ragù with polenta. It also shines alongside aged cheddar or gouda.

Drinking Window

Drink anytime now for immediate enjoyment, or cellar through 2030–2034 for further refinement of its oak-spice layers.
