Description

Varietal: Tannat from the impeccably farmed Alder Springs vineyard in the town of Laytonville in Mendocino County. Elevation 2,300ft. Fruit was fully destemmed into concrete vats. Fermentation occurred spontaneously. Élevage was in used barriques. Malolactic proceeded naturally.

Taste: The wine is deliciously textural, filling the mouth with soft, round, and ripe tannins. The nose is both fruity and savory; blackberry, cinnamon hard candies, and anise, with a background of leather and coffee grounds.
