Description

This is a beautifully restrained Oregon Chardonnay that hits the sweet spot between freshness and quiet richness. Sourced from Domaine Roy & Fils’ estate vineyards in the Dundee Hills and Yamhill-Carlton AVAs, the 2023 vintage delivers crisp orchard fruit and citrus, lifted florals, and a polished, mineral finish. Lees aging adds a gentle creaminess without tipping into heaviness—making it equally at home on a weeknight table or in a Valentine’s spread.

Why We Love It

If someone says they “like Chardonnay but not the heavy kind,” this is the bottle. It’s balanced and modern—more tension and minerality than butter and oak—while still offering enough texture to feel special. A perfect bridge between Burgundy lovers and Oregon Pinot fans.

Winemaking

Fruit is sourced from two estate sites—Iron Filbert (Dundee Hills) and Quartz Acorn (Yamhill-Carlton). Grapes are hand-harvested and whole-cluster pressed for purity, then aged on the lees for about 10 months in French oak with minimal new oak, preserving freshness while building subtle texture and depth.

Serving & Pairing

Serve chilled (48–52°F).

Great pairings:

  • Roast chicken, turkey, or lemon-herb dishes

  • Salmon, halibut, scallops

  • Pasta with crème fraîche or light cream sauces

  • Mushroom risotto

  • Soft, bloomy cheeses (brie-style) or mild alpine cheeses

Estate Overview

Domaine Roy & Fils is a Willamette Valley producer founded in 2012 by Marc-André Roy and Jared Etzel (sons of the families behind Beaux Frères). The estate focuses on terroir-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from meticulously farmed vineyards in the Dundee Hills and Yamhill-Carlton AVAs, with an emphasis on precision viticulture, thoughtful clonal selection, and balanced, age-worthy wines. The winery entered a new era in 2023 when it joined the Frescobaldi family, bringing expanded resources while maintaining its Oregon-grown, site-first identity.
