Description
WHY IT’S HERE
We’ve known Brittan’s wines for a while, and this Petit Pulse offer felt like a good excuse to bring them back to you. If you’ve had the estate Pinot before, this is a good way to see what changes when you narrow in on a single block.
WHY WE LOVE IT
- A more focused, site-driven expression of the estate
- Brighter, more lifted fruit with a clear mineral edge
- Shows how much the vineyard shifts from block to block
- A natural next step if you want something more specific than the estate wine
QUICK FACTS
- Region: Willamette Valley
- AVA: McMinnville
- Vineyard: Basalt Block, Brittan Estate
- Oak: 12 months French oak (38% new)
- Alcohol: 12.9%
WHEN TO OPEN
A good bottle for when you want something a little more focused, or to put next to the estate Pinot and taste the difference.
ABOUT BRITTAN VINEYARDS
Robert Brittan left Stags’ Leap Winery to focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Oregon’s cooler Willamette Valley. The Basalt Block sits in a south-facing bowl where the vines interact directly with fractured marine basalt, giving the wine its more savory, mineral character.
