Description

WHY IT’S HERE

We’ve known Brittan’s wines for a while, and this Petit Pulse offer felt like a good excuse to bring them back to you. This is the outlier in the lineup, but worth including if you like Syrah with a more savory, restrained style.

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • A cooler-climate take on Syrah
  • More savory than fruit-driven
  • Olive, pepper, and dark fruit rather than jam
  • A good option if you tend to like Northern Rhône

QUICK FACTS

  • Vineyard: Brittan Estate
  • Oak: 15 months French oak (35% new)

Grilled meats, stews, or anything with a little smoke or spice.

ABOUT BRITTAN VINEYARDS

Robert Brittan left Stags’ Leap Winery to focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Oregon’s cooler Willamette Valley. He developed an interest in Rhône varieties early in his career and planted Syrah on the estate to see how it would express itself in McMinnville’s cooler, wind-exposed site.
