Workshop Overview
Wine is changing. Not all at once, and not always in obvious ways.
In this workshop, we’ll explore those changes through three side-by-side comparisons designed to make them visible in the glass.
We begin with a blind comparison built around Burgundy. In one glass, a modern white Burgundy. In the other, a Chardonnay from a cooler climate that reflects how Burgundy showed fifty years ago. Tasted side by side, the differences in ripeness, acidity, and balance become clear.
From there, we expand into how to recognize what’s beyond fruit in a wine. Through a comparison of a volcanic white and a structured red, you’ll explore minerality, texture, and how structure shows up differently across styles.
The final pair looks at emerging regions and evolving styles, highlighting how climate and place are reshaping what quality and balance can look like today.
Throughout the workshop, each concept is built directly from what you taste, so the focus stays grounded in the glass.

What is the Wine Atelier Program?
Wine Atelier is a guided tasting workshop built around a simple idea:
you understand wine best by tasting it side by side.
Each session focuses on a specific concept such as structure, place, or style. It is designed to stand on its own while also building a broader understanding over time.
The format is small and conversational, with each workshop centered on direct comparison and discussion in the glass.
Whether you're just beginning to explore wine or have been collecting and tasting for years, the goal is the same: to help you better understand what you’re tasting and why it matters.
As stewards for your wine journey, our role is to guide that process so what you learn here carries with you beyond the workshop.
