Description
Available by special order. Stock is confirmed at the time of purchase; most orders arrive within 3–7 days.
Guigal produces more white Rhône wine than any other house in the valley, which explains why their entry-level Blanc punches so far above the category. The 65% Viognier core delivers a floral immediacy and stone fruit richness that most Côtes du Rhône Blancs, built on Grenache Blanc from the warmer south, simply cannot match. Fermented cool and aged briefly on lees in stainless steel, the 2024 is even more expressive than recent vintages: silky texture, clean mineral finish, and a stone fruit core that carries all the way through.

Why We Love It
Guigal accounts for roughly a quarter of all Rhône white wine production, which means access to the best Viognier fruit in the valley at a price no smaller house can match. The 2024's additional floral lift makes it the most immediately winning vintage in a few years. An excellent bottle for any table that needs a crowd-pleasing white with genuine character.

Tasting Profile
Floral and fruit-forward, with a soft roundness and clean mineral finish that make this one of the most accessible whites in the Rhône Valley.
- Aroma: White flowers, acacia, apricot, white peach, light honey
- Palate (Flavor): Ripe peach, apricot, pear, faint citrus zest
- Structure & Finish (Mouthfeel): Medium body, round and silky texture, balanced acidity, clean mineral-edged finish
Winemaking
Fermented at controlled low temperatures in stainless steel, which preserves the distinctly floral and stone fruit aromatics of Viognier in their freshest state. A short period on lees after fermentation adds the faint richness and silky mid-palate that distinguishes this from simpler examples of the appellation.

Best alongside grilled sea bass, roasted chicken with herbs, fresh goat cheese, and spring vegetable risotto.
Perfect For: dinner parties, aperitif hour, spring and summer entertaining, host gifts, oyster nights, seafood dinners, weeknight pours, outdoor gatherings
Estate Overview
Founded in Ampuis in 1946, E. Guigal is the defining name in Rhône Valley wine, responsible for vinifying roughly a third of all Côte-Rôtie and nearly half of all Condrieu produced each year. Their legendary single-vineyard Côte-Rôtie bottlings (La Mouline, La Landonne, La Turque) have earned perfect scores from multiple critics, but Guigal's entry-level wines are made with the same sourcing discipline and extended aging that underpins every bottle in the house. We structured the Rhône Valley Atelier around Guigal's range specifically because no other producer demonstrates the full spectrum of the valley in a single lineup.
Terroir (Place)
Guigal sources Côtes du Rhône Blanc fruit from a long-term network of partner growers across the appellation, drawing on vines averaging 25 years old planted across a mosaic of sedimentary, limestone, and granite soils. The diversity of sites contributes the wine's layered character; the limestone parcels provide structural freshness, while the granite plots deliver the Viognier's characteristic floral concentration. The northern Rhône orientation of the sourcing program, unusual for a CdR Blanc, gives the wine more aromatic precision than the appellation norm.
