Description

Featured at RoséFest 2026

Roseblood has been one of our go-to Provence rosés for years, and it is almost always a crowd favorite when we pour it. It has the easy appeal people want from pale Provence rosé, but with more freshness, lift, and mineral detail than the category often delivers. From high-elevation vineyards in Coteaux Varois, it opens with peach, citrus blossom, watermelon, and delicate red fruit, finishing clean, crisp, and lightly saline. It is the kind of rosé people taste once, remember, and ask for again.

Why We Love It at Petit Philippe

We liked Roseblood before the outside recognition caught up. It has been a reliable staff favorite because it does what good Provence rosé should do: it feels fresh, polished, and easy to drink, but not generic. The high-elevation Coteaux Varois fruit gives it more lift and mineral tension than many softer Provence rosés, which is why it keeps working across so many settings. The Wine Spectator Top 100 nod is nice to have, but for us it simply confirmed what we had already seen in the glass for years.

Our Rosé Pick this Season

This is the bottle to keep cold when you want something everyone at the table will enjoy. It is easy enough for a patio afternoon, polished enough for dinner with friends, and familiar enough for someone who already loves Provence rosé. If you want one bottle that can move from the porch to the dinner table without needing much explanation, Roseblood is exactly that.

Winemaking

Roseblood is made by direct pressing, which helps preserve its pale color, delicate fruit, and clean finish. Fermentation takes place at cool temperatures in stainless steel and concrete, keeping the wine bright and precise. A short period on fine lees adds a little texture without making the wine feel heavy. The higher-elevation Coteaux Varois vineyards bring the freshness and mineral edge that make this bottle stand apart from more basic Provence rosé.

Serving & Pairing

Serve well chilled, around 45–50°F. This is an easy bottle for seafood, shellfish, summer salads, grilled vegetables, goat cheese, light chicken dishes, and anything with herbs, olive oil, or citrus. It also works beautifully on its own as the first glass of the evening.

Estate Overview

Château d’Estoublon is one of Provence’s historic estates, with roots dating back to 1489. The modern Roseblood project has brought renewed attention to the estate’s high-elevation Coteaux Varois vineyards, where cooler nights help preserve freshness and acidity. The wine has gained national recognition, including a Wine Spectator Top 100 placement, but its appeal at Petit Philippe has always been simpler than that: it tastes good, it shows well, and customers come back for it year after year.
