Clos De L’Oratoire Saint-Émilion 2019
Varietal: 90% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are grown on a terroir of Fronsac molasse, consisting of a layer of sandy soil and a clay subsoil, ideally suited to Merlot. The wine undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled oak vats, followed by aging in 50% new oak barrels for 16 to 18 months.
Taste: Rich and complex red wine with aromas of dark fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant, combined with spicy notes of pepper and clove, and hints of vanilla and cedar from oak aging. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with velvety tannins and a long finish. The fruit flavors are complemented by earthy and herbal notes, as well as a touch of chocolate.
