Description
Varietal: Zinfandel, Carignan, Mataro, Alicante Bouschet, Grenache, and a field blend of other old-vine varieties. Winemaking: Fermented in a mix of concrete and stainless steel tanks, then aged in a combination of French oak barrels (20% new) and concrete tanks.
Taste: Deep ruby in color, this wine has a nose of blackberry, raspberry, and dark cherry, with hints of vanilla and spice. On the palate, flavors of ripe black fruit, leather, and tobacco are balanced by lively acidity and firm tannins. The finish is long and smooth, with notes of oak and dark chocolate.
