  • Variety: Chardonnay
  • Style: Full-bodied white
  • Best For: Cellar ageing, special occasions

Why We Stock It

Meursault-Perrières is one of Burgundy's most distinctive white-wine sites, and this domaine produces wines of real complexity and ageing potential. The 2024 shows the minerality and precision the climat is known for. It rewards patience in the cellar but will give you years of drinking from 2026 forward.

Tasting Profile

This Chardonnay is refined and mineral-driven, with good weight balanced by crisp acidity.

  • Aroma: Hazelnut, white flowers, citrus, flint
  • Palate: Stone fruit, toasted almond, creamy texture, mineral edge
  • Structure & Finish: Good acidity, long and persistent finish with flinty character

Winemaking

Made from grapes grown in the limestone-rich Perrières climat. The wine is aged in oak, allowing the fruit to integrate with oak influence while maintaining the site's mineral expression.

Serving & Pairing

Serve at 50 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit. This wine does not need decanting when young but will develop further complexity in bottle over the next decade. Pair it with buttered scallops or roasted chicken with cream sauce for its weight and acidity, or simply with oysters to let the minerality shine.

The Estate

Domaine Morey-Coffinet is a small grower in Meursault, tending vineyards across several of the region's finest 1er cru and village sites. The domaine works with traditional Burgundian methods and focuses on expressing the character of each vineyard.

Terroir

Perrières sits on the eastern slope of Meursault's hillside, where limestone-rich soils and a southeast aspect give the Chardonnay its distinctive flinty minerality and crisp acidity. The cooler microclimate here produces wines with tension and ageing potential that set them apart from the rounder styles found elsewhere in the appellation.
