Why We Love It
Hanatoro produces just one wine each year from a single vineyard, and the attention to detail shows. This is classic Walla Walla Cabernet—rich, polished, and incredibly limited—making it an easy recommendation for anyone who loves serious Washington reds.
Winemaking
Hanatoro produces only one wine each year, crafted entirely from estate-grown fruit at Octave Vineyard. The wine is gently aged for about 20 months in top French oak barrels from the forests of Allier, Tronçais, and Nevers, with minimal intervention and careful hand blending. The result is a precise, site-driven Cabernet produced in extremely small quantities.

Estate Overview
Founded in 2011, Hanatoro is an ultra-boutique winery producing a single Bordeaux-style wine each year from Octave Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley. The name comes from a Kyoto festival meaning “the path of light and flowers,” reflecting a philosophy centered on craftsmanship, hospitality, and limited, high-quality production. The wines are crafted by winemaker Justin Wylie and produced in tiny quantities for select restaurants, clubs, and specialty retailers.
