Description
Chianti Classico earns its place when Sangiovese feels fresh, savory, and firmly tied to food. Podere Campriano keeps the focus on pure Sangiovese from a tiny family farm in Greve-in-Chianti. The wine is red-fruited, dry, and lifted, with enough structure for the table but no unnecessary weight.

Why We Love It
We like this because it brings Chianti Classico back to what we like most: Sangiovese, food, and a real family-scale estate. It is familiar enough for everyday Italian dinners, but the organic farming and small-production context make it feel much more personal.
Tasting Profile
Fresh and savory, with cherry fruit, herbs, and a dry food-friendly finish.
- Aroma: Red cherry, dried herbs, violet, light earth
- Palate (Flavor): Sour cherry, red plum, cranberry, savory spice
- Structure & Finish (Mouthfeel): Medium body, fresh acidity, firm fine tannin, dry finish
Winemaking
Fermentation in stainless steel keeps the Sangiovese fruit clear and bright. The wine is neither filtered nor fined, which helps preserve texture and savory detail. Aging in Italian oak botti and tonneaux softens the tannins without pushing the wine into an oak-driven style, and additional steel and bottle aging help the finish settle before release.
Serving & Pairing

Pair with tomato pasta, pizza, roast pork, grilled sausages, meatballs, or pecorino.
Perfect For: pasta night, pizza night, casual dinner parties, roast pork, Sunday sauce, Tuscan-themed dinners, host gifts
Estate Overview
Podere Campriano is a small family farm in Greve-in-Chianti, with only a few hectares of vines and olive trees. Elena Lapini and Luca Polga work on a very small scale, making traditional Sangiovese-based reds from their cellar beneath the family home. The estate’s size and organic certification make this a more personal expression of Chianti Classico than many larger-production examples. Petit Philippe selected it because it brings Chianti Classico back to Sangiovese, food, and a real family-scale estate.
Terroir (Place)
The Chianti Classico vineyard sits below the winery on a southwest-facing slope in Greve-in-Chianti. That exposure ripens Sangiovese toward cherry and plum while preserving the acidity that makes the wine work with food. Galestro, clay, and schist give the wine its savory edge, firm tannin, and dry finish.
