Description
Featured at RoséFest 2026
Tiberio was one of the wines at RoséFest that immediately changed people’s expectations once they saw the color in the glass. Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo sits somewhere between rosé and light red wine stylistically, bringing deeper fruit, more texture, and more savory character than the pale Provençal style most people associate with rosé. Made from Montepulciano in Abruzzo, this wine opens with cherry, blood orange, herbs, and crushed stone minerality while still staying fresh and energetic all the way through the finish. It is bright enough for summer, but substantial enough to feel completely comfortable at the table.

Why We Love It at Petit Philippe
We love Tiberio because it shows how serious and food-friendly rosé can be without losing freshness or drinkability. Montepulciano naturally gives the wine more color and texture than Pinot Noir or Grenache-based rosé, but Tiberio keeps everything lifted and clean instead of heavy. There is also a confidence to the wine that we really appreciate. It does not try to imitate Provence. It tastes completely comfortable being Cerasuolo.
Our Rosé Pick this Season
This is one of the best rosés in the lineup for people who normally drink red wine. It works especially well with pizza, grilled food, charcuterie, and dinners where lighter rosés sometimes disappear once the food arrives. If you want a rosé that still feels refreshing but carries a little more weight and personality, this is a very easy bottle to fall into.
Winemaking
Tiberio farms in Abruzzo near the Adriatic coast, where cooler mountain air and limestone-rich soils help preserve freshness in Montepulciano. The wine sees short skin contact to build the deeper cherry color and light structure that define traditional Cerasuolo, followed by stainless steel fermentation to maintain brightness and purity. The result is a rosé with more texture and depth than most styles while still staying energetic and refreshing.
Serving & Pairing
Serve lightly chilled, around 50°F. This wine pairs especially well with pizza, grilled meats, tomato-based dishes, charcuterie, roast chicken, pasta, pecorino, and Mediterranean cooking with herbs and olive oil. It also handles richer foods better than many lighter rosés because of the added structure from Montepulciano.
Estate Overview
Tiberio is one of Abruzzo’s benchmark producers, known for wines that combine precision, freshness, and strong regional identity. The estate farms near the foothills of the Apennines, where mountain and coastal influences meet to preserve acidity and minerality in the wines. Their Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo has become one of Italy’s reference-point rosés because it captures everything that makes the style compelling: vibrant fruit, savory depth, food-friendly structure, and unmistakable regional character.
